ENVIRONMENT

Taking pride in your environment means more than just cleaning up after yourself. It means acknowledging you’re a part of this Earth and the Earth is a part of you. The food you eat doesn’t come from a store; it comes from fields and gardens that others tend. The air you breathe isn’t yours alone; there’s no point at which “your” air stops and others’ starts. It’s all shared; all one.

Spend today looking around you with new eyes and an awareness that this is your world, the world that feeds you, breathes oxygen for you, protects you and shelters you. Then let the peace of nature move you to care for it more deeply, until the words REDUCE – RECYCLE – REUSE take on a whole new meaning!

“I think the environment should be put in the category of our natural security.
Defense of our resources is just as important as defense abroad.
Otherwise, what is there to defend?” ~ Robert Redford

Some ideas for caring for the environment: Recycle and reuse as much as possible, ride your bike as often as you can or host a De-Litter Day and make new friends along the way!
